This brand new property, one of three neighbouring villas, privately built, is situated on a small, country road on the edge of a village. It faces south, with beautiful views of the Pyrenees and rolling countryside. Prices may seem high compared with other new properties, but the comparison ends there. Geothermal energy (drilled 100m deep) is used for under floor heating and hot water (800 litres per day can be heated). The cost of electricity for the transformer pump is estimated at 250 – 300 euros per year. In case of excessive cold (not very likely) an electrical device will kick in and help the heating. There is massive insulation and double glazing; there is double flow ventilation via a plate exchanger so clean, external air is heated in winter and cooled in summer. Each house is spacious and light. Each has central vacuuming system; fitted kitchen with electric hob, oven, dishwasher; TV and telephone points in each room; central home automation system with up to 40 functions, including burglar alarm, smoke/fire detectors, freezer alarm, emergency alert for the elderly or infirm; some remote control motorised shutters (can be activated long distance by telephone); and each has a huge basement with double garage(remote control doors), workshop space, laundry/utility area, and the possibility to extend accommodation with an apartment or office suite – pipe work is in place for a bathroom and there are proper windows.
