Agnès is an English solicitor, based in London, as well as a French avocat, and she specialises in Anglo-French legal issues. She has over 15 years' experience serving a country-wide British clientèle with interests in France and practices in all areas of French law (with the exception of family and criminal law). The firm has a network of notaires and avocats in France, covering both property and, inheritance, and commercial and litigation matters.

Restaurant

Excellent cuisine in the elegant surroundings of an old chateau, though service sometimes slow. Summer dining on the terrace with views of the park. Menus from 20€.

Definitely a firm favourite. Excellent food. 'Menu du jour' is 12.50 euros - 3 courses with wine, very good value. Other menus available, changed weekly. A very popular restaurant, and deservedly so. Synthia and Yoann are your welcoming hosts - you can be sure of an excellent meal in a lively and friendly atmosphere. The 3-course 'menu du jour' includes wine, and is good value at only 12 euros. Other set menus are available and also à la carte. Booking advisable.

“Caufepe” – Monique and Lucien Jonckeau

Chambres d’hote. Rooms including breakfast 40€, half board 70€ per couple. This is a charming local farm where you will be very comfortable and will eat Gascon delicacies. Very welcoming and used to having English guests, though you will need to brush up your French as the hosts have very limited English, though this makes for an entertaining experience!

Directions:
Take D626 between Lombez and Saramon. About halfway, look for sign to Montamat (on the left if you are travelling from Lombez direction). Follow the chambres d'hôte signs. The house is on the edge of the village at the Lombez end.

Mounon du Nord

Two gites, sleeping 2/3 and 6/8 persons. Large swimming pool. Tranquil setting in Gers countryside. Central location between Castera Verduzan and Vic Fezensac, ideal for property viewings all over the Gers. Plenty of local restaurants within 15-20 minutes. See website for weekly rates. Shorter stays possible out of season (November-March).

Directions:
Approaching Castera Verduzan from Auch, continue to far end of main street, past Thermal baths and Casino on the left. As the road bears right, turn left immediately after small supermarket, “Huit a Huit”, onto D158, dir. Bezolles. Continue to x-roads with D939. Go straight across, still on D158, following signs for Bezolles and “Domaine les Acacias”. Go past sign on left for Rozes. At the top of the hill, look for a large tree on the right with a sign to Mounon du Nord (near communal rubbish bins!). Turn right, then look for 2nd property on left.

Au Canard Gourmand

De luxe chambres d'hôte complementing the excellent restaurant. Quite some of the best accommodation locally with individually designed rooms. Bath robes and hairdryers are provided along with 'in-house' toiletries. Soothing massage room with candles and soft music. Look out for special deals, such as dinner, bed & breakfast, including pre-prandials in the jacuzzi!

Andrew & Sarah Powderly

Luxuriously appointed single storey, 4-bed villa, recently built, set in beautiful Gers countryside with views of Pyrenees. Superb pool, alarmed according to regulations. Short or long lets throughout year, with B&B off season. Handy for day-trips to Pyrenees or to Spain. The family live in the nearby farmhouse and will give you the warmest of welcomes. Definitely a 'must have' experience!

Le Mas des Abeilles

If you fancy a short break after all the househunting and want a complete change of scenery, then head for this wonderful, luxurious guest house. The de luxe en suite rooms - equipped with hairdryers, Tassimo beverage makers, and delightful toiletries - start from 60€ in low season and 80€ in high season. All face south, with great views of the beautiful gardens and the foothills of the Alps beyond. There is wi-fi connection and a PC for use of guests. Andrew and Jeremy will give you a warm welcome and ensure that you have a memorable stay in these peaceful surroundings.

Maison Tillac

Madeleine and Tony Clifford-Winters have recently renovated this 19C farm worker's cottage with attached barn, providing superior, top quality accommodation. It can be rented as two separate gîtes, sleeping 8 and 5, or as a whole. Each is spacious and comfortably furnished; each bedroom has smart, en suite facilities. Individual covered terraces; shared swimming pool. Very pleasant surroundings in a medieval village. An ideal spot for exploring this beautiful region.

Mike and his wife own a house in the Gers. Mike is therefore familiar with the building methods and techniques used in the region and he is able to undertake structural surveys during his visits here, or for an extra charge if it is a special visit from the UK.
